The Shaanti Trio's members are Lori Kesner, flute, Bryan Young, bassoon, and Rhoda Jeng, piano

Shaanti is the Sanskrit word for Peace.

Comprised of flutist Lori Kesner, bassoonist Bryan Young and pianist Rhoda Jeng, Shaanti Trio believes in music as a means to bridge gaps in cultural understanding. By performing compositions from the Western musical cannon alongside works from lesser-known musical traditions, the group helps to promote the ideals of acceptance, tolerance and peace.

Shaanti Trio has embarked on a project to collaborate with composers from a variety of cultural backgrounds to commission new works that draw from their diverse world musical traditions. These new works will not only open new pathways to cultural understanding, but will also expand the repertoire for this unique combination of instruments.

Shaanti Trio is now accepting bookings for 2011. For more information, please contact the trio.
